Eight smoothie combinations to which you can add greens, plant protein, or superfood enhancers. Wheatgrass or ginger shots, açaí bowl, anytime oats, Chickpea “No Tuna” Salad wrap or Asian Peanut Ginger wrap. Five different bowl meals start with a base of quinoa, brown rice, kale, spinach, flax seed, chia seed and hemp seed, to which various combinations of vegetables, seeds, nuts, and legumes are added and topped with various sauces.

This small gem brings highly-praised Asian vegetarian and vegan cuisine to the South Shore. Named for a province of Southwest China, Yunnan is located in a glassed-in area inside the large grocery store (across from the checkout counter) in the Kam Man Marketplace. They earn praise for their especially helpful and friendly service, and for the freshness and flavor of their dishes. There are hot noodle soups with bases of either tomato or mushroom, and cold appetizers such as Pu Pu Platter or Woodear & Cucumber Salad. Yunnan Specials include a recommended Yellow Split Pea Tofu Salad, plus some intriguing desserts such as Winter Melon Sweet Basil Seed Jello.

Authentic South Indian dinners served Thali style, which means that you order a complete meal of five set items. Menu is for takeout/pick-up and rotates weekly. It includes thoughtfully-prepared dishes such as Mixed Vegetable Masala, which cooks carrots, beans, peas, hyacinth beans, sweet potatoes, and fenugreek leaves in spices and chickpea flour. The Broccoli in Mungbeans presents broccoli, bell peppers and fenugreek leaves cooked with spices and tossed with a mixture of mung beans, chickpeas and pigeon peas, coconut and other spices. The Vendekkai Kozhambu simmers okra and pearl onions in a sauce that is spicy, sour, and slightly sweet. They offer a Monthly Supper Club with community-style dining. Dairy ghee and yogurt are used in some dishes, but vegan versions can be requested.

Their Greens & Beans pairs coconut curry black-eyed peas with sauteed garlic kale over basmati rice topped with sweet potato chips. General Tso’s Tofu with broccoli in a sweet and spicy sauce, or Falafel Bunny Bowl are among the rotating entrees.
