South Shore

Cabo Vegan Restaurant & Market
20 Main Street
Brockton, MA 02301
508-638-8333
857-413-1453

All vegan, this family-run local catering service offers traditional Cabo Verdean dishes recreated 100% plant-based, along with other inventive dishes. They have fulfilled a hard-earned dream of opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant and market in downtown Brockton. Their presentation of the classic Cape Verdean dish cachupa or katxupa stew omits the meat and uses slow-stewed hominy (corn), beans, yuca and sweet potato. Their “chuna” sub roll uses sea veggie blends with chickpeas, walnuts, celery, vegan mayo, red onions, shredded carrots, and dried cranberries, for a better-than-tuna dish. Their acclaimed lobster-less roll uses hearts of palm with mayo, dill, lemon, red onion, truffle oil, and a house ocean spice blend. Corn on the cob smothered in house-made Ranch, scallions, savory spices, herbs and crunchy onions surrounded by leek sprouts, plus other savory dishes, desserts, and nutritious hot and cold beverages round out the menu. Inspired by a will to help animals, the planet, and the good health of the community, they create vegan food with Portuguese and African influences. With a motto of “Our food is grown, not born,” they refine recipes through extensive taste testing and experimentation to replace animal ingredients with natural plant ingredients.

They also have specials such as French toast with mint and berries, Haitian “meatballs,” and a Veggie Bowl of warm quinoa with kale, butternut squash, walnut meatballs, and chickpeas, topped with spicy peanut vinaigrette. Every dish is made with a unique flair, such as red lentil curry served with sweet plantains, and a no-ordinary-spaghetti-dish, their Haitian-style kamut pasta is tossed with peppers and onions and plant-based sausages garnished with scallions, Parmesan cheeze, fresh parsley, and served with scratch-made plant-based egg.
